Yes — street-legal drag meetings accept road-registered cars with a current WOF, a helmet and basic checks. It's the easiest way to race your own car legally.

The main dedicated strips are in the North Island, with other events run at airfields and prepared venues in both islands — every active venue appears in the listings above.

Street cars typically run 12–17 seconds over the quarter mile, while NZ's top competition classes run deep into the single digits at over 250 km/h.

ET (elapsed time) is your time over the quarter mile; the speed is measured at the finish line. Bracket racing lets any car compete evenly by racing against its own predicted time.
