FAQ

Do I need a licence for rental karting?

No — rental venues supply the kart, helmet and a safety briefing. You just need to meet the venue's minimum age or height requirement.

How old do you have to be for go karting in NZ?

It varies by venue — most run junior karts from around age 6–8 with height minimums, and standard karts from the early teens. Check the specific venue's rules before booking.

How much does go karting cost?

Typically somewhere between NZ$30–70 per session depending on the venue, kart type and session length. Race nights and endurance events are priced per event.

Indoor or outdoor karting — what's the difference?

Indoor tracks run all-weather, usually with electric or lower-powered karts; outdoor circuits are faster and closer to real racing. Both are listed on this page.

Is rental karting a pathway into real racing?

Absolutely — rental leagues and endurance events teach racecraft, and plenty of drivers step from rental series into KartSport club racing. See the Track Karting page when you're ready.
