No — rental venues supply the kart, helmet and a safety briefing. You just need to meet the venue's minimum age or height requirement.

It varies by venue — most run junior karts from around age 6–8 with height minimums, and standard karts from the early teens. Check the specific venue's rules before booking.

Typically somewhere between NZ$30–70 per session depending on the venue, kart type and session length. Race nights and endurance events are priced per event.

Indoor tracks run all-weather, usually with electric or lower-powered karts; outdoor circuits are faster and closer to real racing. Both are listed on this page.
