Circuit Racing

The usual path: MotorSport NZ licence via a member club, then club-level racing in an affordable class. Many drivers step up from karting or track days — see our guide to starting racing for the full pathway.

Entry-level club racing in a budget class can run a few thousand dollars a season once you own the car; national championship racing costs far more. Costs vary hugely by class, so start at club level.

Hampton Downs, Taupo International Motorsport Park, Manfeild and Pukekohe's successors in the north; Ruapuna (Christchurch), Levels (Timaru), Teretonga (Invercargill) and Highlands (Cromwell) in the south.

Entry varies by organiser — some club meetings are free, others charge a small gate fee, while national championship rounds and headline events are ticketed. Each event listing shows admission details.
