The Repco Supercars Championship will return to Taupo International Motorsport Park in 2027, part of a confirmed 3-year deal between Supercars, the New Zealand Government, and the Taupo District Council that locks in NZ racing through at least 2028. Taupo alternates with Christchurch's Euromarque Motorsport Park under the arrangement, following the historic 2026 NZ Double Header (April 10–12 Taupo, April 17–19 Ruapuna) that brought Supercars to the South Island for the first time.
The 2026 Taupo round continued strong crowd momentum, drawing tens of thousands of fans to the lakeside circuit. The 2027 exact date is yet to be confirmed, but Supercars Travel has opened a priority access registration for early ticket interest.
