The Otago Rally opens the 2027 Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship on 9–11 April — the 51st running of one of New Zealand's most celebrated rally events. Based out of Dunedin, the rally spreads across Otago's classic mix of gravel roads through farmland, forest and coastal terrain, covering 284km+ of competitive distance across 16 stages. The event draws New Zealand's top AP4 and Rally2 entries alongside historic and modified class cars, and the ceremonial start in Dunedin city is a landmark occasion for southern motorsport fans.
The 2027 NZRC calendar was confirmed by MotorSport New Zealand in August 2026, with the same six events returning. The only significant shift sees the International Rally of Whangarei move to the final round slot (October 29–31).
